Growing up, her home was a sanctuary for a diverse range of creatures—from playful dogs and majestic horses to curious cats. She was quite literally born with reins in her hands, driven by an innate passion for all living beings, whether hoofed or furred.

A seasoned horse trainer with a special focus on colt and mustang preparation, Sara has an extraordinary talent for gently guiding wild spirits into becoming confident, rider-ready companions. What sets her apart is not just her skill, but the trust she builds with each animal she works with. Whether it’s a frightened colt or a rescued dog, animals feel safe and understood in her care. The Boerboels, in particular, trust Sara with their whole heart and soul. These loyal, protective dogs have a unique bond with her—one built on respect, care, and unwavering love. Their deep connection with her speaks to her ability to earn the trust of even the most independent and strong-willed animals.

Her passion is more than a job—it’s a calling. And it’s a calling she answers from her 26-acre property, which she didn’t buy for the breathtaking views (though they are spectacular). She purchased the land to give her animals a safe, thriving home where they could flourish.

With an extensive background in medical care and nursing, Sara brings a deep understanding of animal health, in-depth birthing processes, paired with a nurturing touch that bridges both her human and animals. This unique blend of skills and heart makes her not just an expert, but a compassionate advocate for the creatures she works with. Whether she’s training horses, comforting a shy pup, or tending to the animals in her care, Sara’s life is a testament to her belief that love, trust, and dedication can transform both lives and hearts.

Joe is the heart and backbone of SATA Kennels, a devoted husband to Sara and a proud father. While his love for animals is undeniable, it’s his hands-on dedication and unwavering support that truly keeps the operation running smoothly. Whether it’s lending a hand with the dogs, caring for the other animals, or tackling any challenge that comes their way, Joe is always there, ready to roll up his sleeves and make things happen.

Joe’s passion for animals runs deep, and it was his decision to bring Minzi, the family’s first Boerboel, into their lives that sparked a deep love for the breed. Thanks to Joe, the entire family has developed a shared passion for Boerboels, with Minzi becoming the cornerstone of their journey into breeding and care. His innovative designs and practical solutions have been instrumental in turning Sara’s breeding dreams into reality, creating a foundation for the kennel’s success.

With his ability to build, create, and problem-solve, Joe is the quiet force behind the scenes, making everything run seamlessly so Sara’s vision can thrive. Without him, SATA Kennels simply wouldn’t be what it is today.

Puppy Learning Assistant

Rylee’s heart beats for animals—whether they have hooves, paws, or claws. As a teenager, she brings an infectious enthusiasm and nurturing spirit to every aspect of Sara’s breeding program. At SATA Kennels, Rylee plays a vital role in the care and development of the animals, assisting with everything from the delicate process of birthing to implementing puppy culture and socialization techniques that ensure every dog is set up for success.

Her passion doesn't stop there. Rylee is also deeply involved in training the dogs, helping to shape them into well-behaved, balanced companions. She’s just as dedicated to the hands-on work—cleaning pens, grooming the dogs, and keeping everything running smoothly. With an unwavering commitment to animal care, Rylee exemplifies the power of love and responsibility in nurturing the next generation of happy, healthy animals.
